Who's getting a DS?

You waste time playing games. Why not waste time talking about them too?

Who's getting a DS?

Postby le geek » Thu Nov 18, 2004 4:19 pm

Anyone getting a Nintendo DS?

I may get one if there are any left. Feel the Magic: XY/XX and Super Mario 64 DS are very tempting.

Cheers,
Ben

Mario 64 DS is very tempting, but I probably won't seriously consider it until I see Animal Crossing DS. I love the GameCube version.

Animal Crossing was very addictive. I actually have all the e-reader cards, but haven't played in quite a while. i wonder if anything is left in my town? Did you ever try Cubivore?

I tried the DS Kiosk at Wal-Mart last night and the Metroid Demo seemed good but not great. The graphics were quite good (and it is a demo). Perhaps it would be better multiplayer... Couldn't try pictochat...

Cheers,
Ben

I'm amazed at how much the DS animal crossing looks like the GC one.

Of course, Animal Crossing was originally an N64 game(in Japan) :D

Still it seems like a great use of the touch screen. using the joystick to write all those letters was tedious to say the least!

I hope they add new features...

Agreed. I'd probably get a gamecube first anyway. *feels deprived*

I'll probably get an N64, first.

It's cheap now, and I hear it had some good games.

I'll look into a GameCube when they're about $50.

'nother advantage of that, is I don't have to waste money on crap games, and when I *do* buy just the good games, they'll all be about $5 or $10 each.

Yeah, I have an N64 and I like it. Don't have many games but they are pretty cheap. And that's not a bad idea for the GC. I have an XBox that I won (well, me and Gundam) and those games are still way too high to get too many of 'em, even used depending on the game (usually the good ones are high, sadly...as I'm sure you all know). *sigh* I just hope it doesn't take long for the GC to go down in price.

Prices always drop with the release of the next gen systems. And I learned a neat thing about the 64 a little while back. It'll play Japanese only release games just fine. All you have to do is cut out a tab that prevents the foreign cartriges from fitting in. Not that I've ever had the urge to play foreign games. I don't even own a 64 (but I do have a PS1  )
