I've just realized that, somehow, my password for the computer at work, my password for my email account, and each of the passwords for the two forums I primarily visit are four entirely different things arrived at through four entirely different means. This is after ten years of trying to only use one password at a time for all my user accounts.

Odd.

I'm finally feeling like "not the new guy" on base. We're doing some interesting stuff, too, and I'm finally starting to apply principles I learned while studying marketing. My Hebrew's coming along well, too. I've recently decided to read "Der Judenstaat," Theodor Herzl's manifesto on Zionism, all in Hebrew. If I can get through the long-form essay by the end of July, I'll be happy.

I'm also... losing a crapload of weight. In December, I was around the 210 lb mark, and as of Thursday, I was 177. That bothers me a bit, because I'm afraid that I'm losing weight for the wrong reasons, and that I'm getting dangerously close to the point where I'm *under*weight. I'd much rather be 20 pounds overweight than 10 pounds under... My feeling for a while has been that 175 is about my minimum "healthy" weight, and while I know I could very well be wrong, I feel like changing my mind about that now would just be an excuse, a way to hide from the fact that what's going on isn't healthy.

My problems are that, on the one hand, I don't have enough money to eat on the run too often... I've got to prepare food at home if I want to eat more than one meal per day, but on the other hand I always come home too exhausted to want to cook anything. Even simply boiling pasta is too much effort. Bleh, I need a second source of income. And more hours in the day. And fluency in the language of the land. Ummm... and a supermodel girlfriend who plays blues guitar and knows the Konami Code. Please?

My Grandpa died and I've spent the last week and a half in Madison, Wisconsin. Here's a collection of tweets to sum up:

Strangely enough, I think I was listening to my iPod on the plane at the time my Grandpa died. Guess what song? "Still Alive"

Last night, my cousins and I went out on the town, which really isn't my thing. But I wanted to be with them. In the end, my cousins got way too drunk, and I twisted my ankle. But it was alright.

And today we celebrated my cousin's son's birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's. I like that all the arcades work on just one token. That's how it should be everywhere.

Anyway, now it's time to go home, back back to cali cali. I'm writing this at the airport.

Ed, getting drunk in madison is damn near a prereq for living there. Not in a bad way, in the good way. PAR-T town FTW.

Fish, How tall are you? 175 is not a bad weight if you're say, 5'11. If you're 6'4 you have a bigger problem.

That said, FOOD IS YOUR FRIEND. Dude if you have to prepare meals in the morning so you can actually eat the rest of the day you need to friggin do that. You're in the army for cris' sake, personal wellness is part of soldier readiness!

Woke up at 4:30 with intense pain in my mouth

What is it with people and wisdom teeth lately? My sister just found out she needs hers out, and her best friend claims to be ready to rip her own jaw out due to pain, and now Ma-Kun. Who next?

MQ: I'm 5'10", but I've got a wide frame. My physique could be described as "dwarvenesque." Like I said, if I stayed at a constant 175, I'd be okay... if I thought that was stable. The problem is I lost 3 pounds each week for 3 weeks, and if that trend goes another three weeks I'm in dangerous territory. I was around 185-188 for a good month and a half before this sudden second drop. I'm trying to figure out what the difference between that period and this period is, and definitely trying to eat more. I try to eat *something* at the apartment before I get to base, but even if I don't manage to, I've got a box of cereal in my desk that I tend to snack on throughout the morning. I make sure to drink like a camel (huge mug of tea every morning, plus I refill a half-liter water bottle at least once a day, plus whatever I drink with meals). I take full advantage of the fact that I can pile as much salad, pasta, and vegetables as I want at the lunch room.

The problem is dinner. I don't have time to prepare stuff in the morning. And I tend to miss my window of getting to the supermarket on the weekend as often as I hit it. Since I eat a big lunch, dinner doesn't have to be a huge deal, but I need something solid.

I think I'm going to start making a big pot of soup every weekend. Something heavy. Full of rice and vegetables. Change up the veggies each week. Maybe one week do tomato base, next week chicken, the week after sweet potato. I can microwave a bowl of soup each night. And I can find time to chop vegetables on the weekend. Does soup spoil within a week? Maybe I'll freeze half of it.

Bleh, we'll see what Thursday's venture into the gym brings...

Ed: Sorry to hear bout your Grandpa

Fish: Spend a day cooking and then freeze yourself soups pasta dishes, freaking anything. Then you have variety in what you can eat and wont be like 'eh i don't want that' (which is what happens with most peoples diets too might i add)

So thought I'd sit down and actually write since I dont get to talk to you guys really. I mean some of you are on my facebook but yea.

So here we go umm update... Planning on getting a new vehicle withing the next few weeks. I REALLY wanted a 2010 Chevy Equinox BUT while i could make the payments I'd then have like 3 dollars left of my checks... and well that's no fun. So now well i just drove a 2007 Saturn Vue which I really like. The one I drove is probably not the one i will buy, But it's a good starting point to see if i liked how it drove. The answer by the way is yes i did. :)

Beyond that I'm planning a 2 week vacation from work. Going to get that new vehicle and drive up through michigan and the UP then drive up to Canada. Spend a few days with my boy and his family. Then going to get back int eh car with my boy and drive down to Colorado Springs to see my bestest friend and her boy. Going to spend about a week there and then drive back to Michigan. And my Fiance will be staying with me :) Yes hopefully he is 'moving' here but i dont know if he is going to like it so we'll see what happens in the end. Still a good chance I'm going to end up moving to Canada at some point. Not that that really bothers me.

And let's see that's my real 'news' everything else is the same for the most part. Still working at the grocery store (not goin to bother naming it) Now working for Planogram not sure if i mentioned that before. and umm yea that's really it.

I'm working construction out of town still. Means I get infinitesimal amounts of internet as the closest open wifi is over an hour drive away. Posting this from that spot right now, actually.

Anyways, my car's transmission finally went out. Sadly, cost to repair far exceeded the cost of the vehicle so I had to buy a new (to me) car. Maybe I'm wierd, but I MISS that car. She was awesome and I wish I had the time to fix her.

Got some troubles with the new car too, annoyingly enough. Put 700 miles on the odometer and broke the timing belt. Due to the style of engine, this means the pistons started hitting the valves and I now need to tear off the top end of the engine and rebuild it. Chronicles of this particular adventure can be found here.

At work rain's been keeping at our heals preventing us from putting a good week in. This last week was actually the first in a month that I was able to put in all six days. I hope the weather clears up in the months to come because I need to save for my move to AZ and between car troubles and the weather it hasn't been happening.
