Dr Watson Postmortem Debugger

Postby MK » Tue Aug 01, 2006 2:20 pm

Okay first i thought I had a major bug then I looked into what Dr Watson really is. (for those not in the know it is a program by Microsoft that tells you there is an error in your system) I seem to be running into it erroring as IE errors. Now here's the deal I decided to dl IE7 even tho it was beta So my guess would be IE7 has a messed up file since that is teh only thing erroring closing and then I get the debugger error send to microsoft..... So should I just let it go for now and microsoft should be gettin on figuring out what the deal is OR should I reinsteal IE7 or go back to an older version of IE?

I am also running norton as I type so I can be sure that I really dont have the virus (there IS a virus that gives out the Watson message and apprently its a BAd virus) So what do you all think I should do and do you think that my assumption is correct? Thanks :)

Hmm. See how the VirusScan turns out. When it comes down to it. how patient are you? If you're willing to deal with the malfunction till an update comes out then do so. otherwise download and reinstall a previous version. Personally, i got ride of IE and went with Firefox, and i love it.

The computer problems I've had since I started using Firefox have been almost non existent.

When did you download IE7? I know they released a few updates for it, so you may want to run some updates on your system.

It really sounds like IE7 is the thing that's screwing up. If anything, uninstall it and go back to IE6, or go to Firefox.

And here I thought I was going to be cynical by suggesting Firefox (I already did with a fellow Moxiephile who had to share a computer with someone who has different browser preferences).

You know what you must do, MK.
