Downloaded it and played it last September and then when reminded of it again from Machall I went back and finished it.

The game specificlally or the controls?
The game just requires the game download and then unzipping that to one folder. Then running the english patch from the same folder.
Controls are z and x for shoot and jump.
a and s to change weapons.
q for item screen.
esc for menu
Play it! It is old school awesomeness. This game will remind me its not all bad when I see Halo 10 coming out eventually >.<

I think there's 4 endings total, but I'm not sure about that 100%.
I love the 4 optional weapons too. Well, 3 that the one gun can be traded for (but only once - trade once and you don't get the chance to trade for the next, etc), and the other gun you get from that little dude.
And the Jetpack 2.0 is awesome.

There are ways to win it besides what's been suggested. But the best thing you can do is enter that battle with your life potion and most of your HP.
