no nintendo here....

You waste time playing games. Why not waste time talking about them too?

no nintendo here....

I almost picked up a DS today, but there were none to be found! I suppose I should be thankful, since I don't really need it but I thought it odd considering they have games. ah well, maybe later.

Unless this is like a store specifically for the military, or you have some other assurance that prices are the same as US prices, you should *definitely* import. Mario Kart DS, which is either $30 or $40 in any US store, was the equivalent of $70 here in Israel. Can't imagine that price gouging like that would be much better elsewhere in the Mid-East.

Lik-Sang (www.lik-sang.com) is probably the best video game importer. If you buy one game at a time, they don't even charge shipping. Just watch out, because a lot of the things they advertise on the sidebars are *very* tempting, but you have to realize that adding them will also add shipping costs. Never ordered a console through them, but unless you really want the new Lite model, you probably won't have problems getting a DS.

But, like you implied, that might give you more problems than it solves :P My advice is ask someone really nicely for an Easter present.

Do you people exchange gifts for Easter?

Grafitti on unfertilized chicken embryos and devouring uncooked hares by chocolate proxy. Hell of a way to celebrate nailing a perfectly nice guy to a tree. :)

I sense some religious repression there.

They're just another group of people who take themselves too seriously. And it's our job, as society's dandruff, to destroy their minds, one at a time. :)

There is only one store, called a PX. I tried several PXs at various bases and only one of them had a DS. I was tempted, until I looked at the selection of games...of which there were NONE I would play. The selection here at scania is actually not bad, but then again they don't sell DS's here either.
Like I said I prolly don't need one so I suppose it's just as well. :(

Oh an NK that was too damn funny :D
