The old Nintendo ROCKS!

You waste time playing games. Why not waste time talking about them too?

Traitor.

I'll never forgive you for supporting the 3v!1 known as M!|<ro$0pht after listing that great series of Nintendo machines.

:x

Although I feel no remorse for owning an XBox (I love Halo and Halo 2), I am saddened by your lack of forgiveness. :( . I will miss having you as a friend  . But I do have a great love for nintendo, and it was hard for my friend to convince me to get the Box of Evil!!! But I own it, thus selling my soul and oficially entering into the world of the damned. It IS really fun here, though. Pleeeeaaasse for give me, Fish, Pleeeaaaasssseeee!! :( . I beg you. You must know my true loyalty lies with Nintendo. The cube was the first nexgen system I bought.

It's okay, Vash. I'm sure Fish loves you.

Umm, so wouldn't that be a game problem and not a console problem?

Personally, I prefer the Cube games. No one else makes cute games any more. PSX/PS2 used to, but now they're all gritty and ugly like the XBox games. Ugh.

I like fluff, what can I say?

I do like much of how the Cube keeps that look, leanne. I also like the gritty look on the other systems. I just don't think the cool/cute look should be replaced by the gritty look. They both have their place.

See, I have a GC for one type of games, which are all ones that only appear on it; and I have the XBox for the other type of games, of which several only appear on the Box.

See, yeah, I agree that there's space for both types of game. Nintendo does seem to have a very specific target audience in mind .... although maybe that's changing, given what I've heard about XX/XY.

XBox seems to mostly have shooters and other types of fighting game, which really aren't my cup of tea, but I know lots of other people like them.

I suspect we may get an XBox when they release Sid Meier's Pirates for it. We tried getting that for the laptops .... *facefault* Stupid PC industry. Stupid video cards. Stupid less-than-a-year-old-laptops that can't run ANY games because of their lack of a Radeon. GRRRR.

I miss the heyday of the Playstation RPG madness. Lately, the RPGs just haven't been exciting. I'm kinda hoping there'll be a new Dark Cloud sometime soon ... it is one of the few that still keeps my attention. Square/Enix hasn't done anything I've truly enjoyed since FFTactics and FF9. Playstation used to be THE console for RPGs ... now none of them are exciting. *sigh*

yeah, the main reasonb i want to get a PS2 is to get the "older" RPG's. They have some kick butt ones. I have Halo and Halo2 on the box, along with DOA and some other games that are Action. I love the big Nintendo series like Zelda and Metroid, so I will always have the Cube

I have (in no particular order),

PS2
Playstation (edit, forgot that one, whoops)
dreamcast
mega drive v2 (genesis to you across the pond)
master system
nes
snes
c64
spectrum zx
atari ste
gameboy (original)
gameboy colour
gba
gamegear
original pong game (by binetone, not atari unfortunatly)
(soon to be added a gamecube, as I am getting one for christmas)

All work perfectly except for the atari ste which has a faulty disk drive and/or to many viruses...

I need to find all the bits to my nes. I need to play gauntlet and duck hunt confound it.

What? No Intellivison? :D

Just kidding. That's an impressive collection.

I miss my Atari sometimes. I suck at joystick games still because I learned on an Atari, and everything is supposed to be as hard to control as an Atari, right?

I'm a Games Design graduate, The amount of consoles kinda comes with the territory ;) I have seen people with more consoles then me though.......

I personally find the "Aconsole is better then Bconsole" arguement rather pointless. They all have their good points and bad points. Lets take a look at the cube shall we? Firstly there are unique games on there (one of the reasons why I'm getting it) however the controller (this is a personal opinion by the way) is a pain in the backside. I played SSX Tricky on there and hated it. I was forever accidently hitting the reset button and messing up my jumps due to it.

So basically, it's all down to choice and opinions. And yes, I will be buying an X-Box when I have the money for it....as well as a Saturn....and a lynx......and an N64......hmm, I'm gonna need more storage space.....

Who gave this topic permission to double in size without me?

:P

OK, first off, spikyhairedvash, you're forgiven :)

Secondly, on what other home console can you play, not just from 50 feet away, but in a completely seperate room, should the TV be positioned correctly?

Comes in handy when you're looking up a guide online, but your printer is out of ink.

8) Wavebird 8)

I think that makes up for any faults in the controller scheme.
