So if they were in real time. They would have either just graduated from a four year program if they went to college, or be struggling to get into grad school, or be struggling to finish their bachelors degree.
Or they would be floundering in community college eternally unsure of themselves.
Depending on what the majored in they would be either be living the high life (working at a tech start up in San Francisco) or toiling at some sort of retail hell.
Alex would totally be like a marketing, or business major, may communications.
Riley would be at a tech start up or maybe even google/apple etc.
and Tristen would probably have been a psych major, or maybe philosophy.
I think Alex would have a serious boyfriend and maybe be engaged.
Riley is probably to busy with work and being a awesome techy person to really pay attention to boys, I feel like she would have discovered things like burning man and be super well adjusted and happy with herself.
and Tristen may be so focused on school and furthering her education that she hasn't dated.
I don't know if they would have stayed in the same social circles in high school because of the way that the social dynamics change when you leave middle school. but that doesn't mean that they didn't stay friends, or didn't always choose to work together on group projects (because they knew they could trust each other and were a good team)
As far as those relationships surviving college and that separation goes, despite the fact that I don't talk to a lot of people from high school very often; The ones that I do keep in touch with, I love talking to and wish that I could see more.
Where does the drama come from? the intrigue?
How could Alex leave her Man and her comfortable new happy life to save the world? will he still love her if he finds out that she is a total world saving bad ass?
Riley has landed the job of her dreams at (x company), how is she going to balance saving the world with coding for iOS (or something)? will her boss notice that she isn't always at work when she needs to be?
And How can Tristen come to terms with herself and her philosophical outlook on destruction while still saving the planet?
All this and more will be foretold in: 'Angel Moxie Comes of Age' (good title? I have no idea)
